What Is the StoneFly DR365H?
The DR365H is StoneFly's purpose-built backup and DR appliance with HYCU Backup & Recovery pre-installed. It's a turnkey solution that combines StoneFly's enterprise-grade storage virtualisation with HYCU's agentless, application-aware data protection — no agents to deploy, no manual workflows, and no third-party tools to integrate.
What sets the DR365H apart is its agentless architecture. HYCU auto-discovers workloads across VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V, physical servers, and public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) — then applies policy-driven, application-consistent backups without touching production systems. This means significantly less operational overhead compared to agent-based alternatives.
Security follows the same proven StoneFly approach: patented Air-Gapped Vault technology with immutable object and file storage ensures backups cannot be encrypted, altered, or deleted by ransomware. The dual-controller R2 architecture isolates the HYCU backup server from the storage layer on separate hardware controllers within a single chassis — creating segmented security zones. Recovery is instant: spin up VMs directly on the appliance for near-zero RTOs without waiting for a full restore.

The DR365H competes with Cohesity DataProtect, Rubrik Cloud Data Management, and Commvault HyperScale as a HYCU-native backup target. Cohesity and Rubrik are capable platforms but carry premium licensing costs and don't include the air-gapping and immutability features as standard hardware. Commvault is powerful but complex to deploy and manage.
