UFSConnect inherits and enforces existing NTFS permissions and folder structures exactly as they are, so a user sees precisely the same files and access rights they'd see connecting directly to the file server — nothing has to be re-permissioned or re-organised to go live. Authentication integrates with Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, SAML and MFA, data is encrypted with TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest, and every file access is captured in a complete audit trail. Built-in ransomware detection, file locking for safe concurrent editing, and version history for point-in-time recovery add further protection on top of the existing storage.

The gateway works with Windows Server 2012 R2 and later, sitting in front of any Windows-compatible storage — SAN, NAS or DFS namespace — and scales to support thousands of concurrent users without a change in architecture.
