DR365U (Universal Backup & DR)
Universal Backup and Disaster Recovery for Your Choice of Software
The DR365U is the software-agnostic sibling of the DR365V. Where the DR365V is built specifically for Veeam, the DR365U is designed to work with whatever backup software you're already running — Veritas, Commvault, Acronis, Rubrik, Zerto, or anything else. It provides the same enterprise-grade hardware and security stack without tying you to a particular backup vendor.
Under the hood, the DR365U runs StoneFly's SCVM (Storage Concentrator Virtual Machine), which provisions virtual NAS, SAN, and S3 object storage volumes. Your backup software sees these as standard repositories — it doesn't need to know anything about the underlying StoneFly hardware. This means you can keep your existing Commvault or Veritas investment and simply upgrade the hardware to something that's properly secured.
The security story is identical to the rest of the StoneFly range: automated air-gapped controller, immutable S3 object and file lockdown, AI-based anti-ransomware capabilities, and built-in cloud connectivity for 3-2-1 backup strategy. If your organisation has standardised on non-Veeam backup software and needs air-gapped, ransomware-proof hardware underneath it, the DR365U is the answer.

The DR365U competes with HPE StoreOnce and Dell PowerProtect appliances. Both HPE and Dell make decent backup targets, but they strongly incentivise you to use their own backup software ecosystem — which limits flexibility and drives up licensing costs. The DR365U is genuinely software-agnostic: plug in your preferred backup tool and it just works. For Australian organisations that have already invested in Commvault, Veritas, or Rubrik licensing, the DR365U lets you keep that investment while getting properly air-gapped, immutable hardware underneath.
One of the advantages of working with CRS — we can recommend the best combination of vendors for your specific needs.
