StoneFly USO

The StoneFly USO is a do-everything storage platform that rolls block (iSCSI, Fibre Channel), file (NFS, SMB/CIFS), and S3 object storage into a single appliance. If you're tired of managing separate boxes for different workloads — SAN for databases, NAS for file shares, object store for backups — the USO consolidates the lot. It runs StoneFly's 8th-generation StoneFusion OS, which handles automated tiering across NVMe, SSD, SAS, and cloud tiers so hot data stays fast and cold data stays cheap.

Scalability is a genuine strong point. You can scale vertically by adding expansion shelves (EBODs) or horizontally by clustering more USO nodes — up to 256 drives per node, reaching petabyte-scale without forklift upgrades. High-availability configurations use dual active-active controllers with automated failover and load balancing, so there's no single point of failure.

Security is baked in rather than bolted on. The USO includes Air-Gapped Vault technology, immutable storage (FileLock for files, S3 Object Lock for objects), and hardware-based AES 256-bit encryption.
