Unified Storage & Server (USS)
All-in-One Zero-Latency Hyperconverged Infrastructure
The StoneFly USS is a hyperconverged appliance that packs compute, storage, virtualisation, and networking into one box. Instead of running a separate server rack, separate SAN, and separate backup target, the USS consolidates everything so your VMs run on the same hardware as their storage — eliminating network bottlenecks and delivering zero-latency performance.
It supports VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Citrix, and Proxmox VE out of the box. Under the hood, StoneFly's Storage Concentrator Virtual Machine (SCVM) manages the physical drives and provisions local NAS, SAN, or S3 volumes directly to the VMs hosted on the same node. You get the flexibility of software-defined storage without giving up the simplicity of a single management interface.
For organisations looking to modernise aging data centres, the USS is a practical path forward. It dramatically reduces power, cooling, and rack space requirements. HA cluster configurations with dual nodes provide automated failover, and built-in FlashCache, thin provisioning, and air-gapped ransomware protection keep your virtual workloads fast and secure. Scales up to 6.2 petabytes in HA setups.

The USS competes with Nutanix AOS, Dell VxRail, and HPE SimpliVity — the three big names in HCI. The difference? StoneFly doesn't charge per-node software licensing fees that make Nutanix deployments eye-wateringly expensive at scale. For Australian organisations that want HCI without the Nutanix/VMware licensing spiral, the USS delivers the same consolidation benefits with straightforward appliance pricing. It's particularly strong for Proxmox VE shops that can't justify paying Nutanix prices for open-source virtualisation workloads.
One of the advantages of working with CRS — we can recommend the best combination of vendors for your specific needs.
