QSAN XE5 NVMe JBOF

The QSAN XE5 (XE5026) is QSAN's first NVMe JBOF — Just a Bunch Of Flash — and a strategic step into the AI infrastructure category. Where the existing [XCubeDAS](/vendors/qsan/products/xcubedas) line is SAS-based JBOD expansion, the XE5 is purpose-built for disaggregated NVMe architectures and AI workloads where compute nodes need direct flash access without controller-mediated paths.

Server-direct connectivity is the headline. Compute nodes access NVMe resources directly, reducing latency and maximising throughput for real-time processing and AI training pipelines. Independent scaling of performance and capacity decouples expansion from traditional system limits. The 26-bay 2U form factor (consistent with QSAN's other 2U chassis) gives partners a familiar rack footprint with a fundamentally different storage architecture underneath.

For Australian AI / ML training infrastructure, financial-services real-time analytics, and partners building GPU-direct storage tiers, the XE5 enters a category previously dominated by Pure FlashBlade //E, VAST Data, and WEKA — all at tier-1 vendor pricing.
