StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA)
Turnkey Hyperconverged Infrastructure — Plug In, Power On, Done
The StarWind HCI Appliance is for organisations that want StarWind VSAN's technology without having to build and configure it themselves. It's a true turnkey platform — compute, networking, storage, and virtualisation software all pre-configured and pre-tested by StarWind engineers before it ships. You rack it, cable it, power it on, and it works.
Every appliance is custom-built to the customer's workload requirements. StarWind's engineers size the hardware, configure the VSAN mirroring, set up the hypervisor, and even handle migration from existing infrastructure. This white-glove approach eliminates the "you built it wrong" finger-pointing that plagues multi-vendor HCI deployments. One vendor, one support number, one throat to choke.
The real differentiator is StarWind's ProActive Premium Support. It's AI-powered telemetry that monitors the cluster 24/7/365 with call-home capabilities. StarWind's support team sees issues before you do and resolves them proactively. The result is 99.9999% uptime — six nines — which is the kind of number that matters when your CFO asks what happens if the infrastructure goes down. Start with a 2-node cluster and scale out by adding nodes as workloads grow.

The HCI Appliance goes up against Nutanix, Dell VxRail, and HPE SimpliVity — and it wins on two fronts: simplicity and cost. Nutanix is powerful but overkill for 2-node ROBO deployments. You're paying for enterprise-grade orchestration tools that a branch office never uses, plus per-node AOS licensing that makes small deployments disproportionately expensive. Dell VxRail locks you into the VMware ecosystem (which now means Broadcom's pricing), and HPE SimpliVity is being quietly deprioritised in favour of GreenLake. StarWind HCA is purpose-built for the 2-to-8-node sweet spot. The white-glove deployment and proactive support model means you don't need a dedicated HCI specialist on staff. For Australian channel partners selling into SMB and mid-market, the HCA is a much easier conversation than trying to justify a Nutanix or VxRail deployment for a 20-person branch office. Single vendor support removes the finger-pointing, and the six-nines uptime SLA is backed by genuine proactive monitoring rather than a marketing claim.
One of the advantages of working with CRS — we can recommend the best combination of vendors for your specific needs.
